The team of doctors who visited are Dr. Anant Kini, Dr. A.O Nazareth, Dr. Damodar Narvekar, and Dr. Sushma Kirtani.
The village is situated at 96 kms from Panaji. Total population is 2200 but considering migrant labourers there it amounts to 3 thousand. The village panchayat is common to Ibrampur and to another place called Hankhane. There are 3 primary schools and 2 high schools. One high school is govt. aided and second is private. Total students in all 3 primary schools are about 230. The high school aided by govt has 113 students from 5th to 10th std.
There is a sub centre very close to panchayat where once a week a medical officer visits for consultation. There is a PHC about 8 kms from panchayat which has 10 beds, OPD, X-ray facility twice a week and basic lab facility thrice a week. There are 3 medical officers posted there, at a time one is on duty. The village Ibrampur has 8 videos and Hankhane has 5 vaddos. It has 2 anganwadis catering at the moment to 15 kids each from 0 to 3 years.
The Sarpanch Mr. Shinde was present along with Dy. Sarpanch Ruchi Naik, and 4 panch members. We met teachers of all 3 primary schools and one teacher from high school, as well as one anganwadi worker. The village panchayat committee was very helpful and gave us the necessary details.
The teachers when asked said that the schools have no water filter, no first aid box. Single teacher caters to 17 students from 1st to 4th std. there is also nursery to KG2 and separate teacher teaches these 13 students. The second primary school has 90 students, where as 3rd school has 110 students.
Every household has 2 or 3 kids. 88% families have the toilets with septic tanks. They have employed garbage collection one female worker for dry garbage, wet garbage is used for organic farming as lots of people there grow vegetables as means of living. There is no ambulance in the village.
The team of north goa doctors who will execute work to support the IAP project are Dr. Kini, Dr. Nazareth, Dr. Mina Pereira, Dr. Chetna khemani, Dr. Poonam Sambhaji, myself, Dr. Damodar Narvekar.
